Kathy W. Elisca Clermont holds a Bachelors of Arts degree in Psychology from Seton Hall University, South Orange, New Jersey. She is inspired to become a public health advocate due to her work experience in the health field and her recent humanitarian work from her mission trip to Haiti in January, 2015. Throughout her academic career she held many positions such as a Patient Care Technician at John F. Kennedy Medical Center. In addition, she served the Haitian community in her city where she interned as a case manager at Jefferson Park Ministries. Her work at the organization helped provide important resources such as health insurance, food stamps, and E.S.L to the Haitian community.
Ms. Elisca Clermont is inspired from Dr. Paul Farmer’s book “Mountains Beyond Mountains” she too one day wants to accomplish her dreams by entering a Master program in Public Health. This will help her gain research opportunities and establish ways to promote healthy lifestyles for the Haitian population
