The National Alliance for the Advancement of Haitian Professionals (NAAHP) is looking for a Human Resources Manager. The Human Resources Manager guides and manages the overall provision of Human Resources services, policies, and programs for our organization, and a portion of the Human Resources function within NAAHP. The Manager collaborates with the Director of HR to originate and lead Human Resources practices and objectives that will provide an employee-oriented; high-performance culture that emphasizes empowerment, quality, productivity, goal attainment, and ongoing development of our organization. The Manager also coordinates the implementation of people-related services, policies, and programs through Human Resources staff.  In addition, HR Manager will collaborate with the Executive Management Team in fulfilling NAAHP’s Mission. The Human Resources Manager reports to the Director of HR.

Task Description

  • Develops and administers various human resources plan and procedures for all company personnel
  • Plans, organizes and controls all activities of the department.
  • Participates in developing department goals, objectives and systems
  • Rewrites job descriptions as necessary
  • Prepares and maintains handbook on policies and procedures
  • Develops and maintains affirmative action program; maintains other records, reports and logs to conform to regulations
  • Works with supervisors to screen and interview candidates; conducts reference checking; extends position offers
  • Conducts new-employee orientations; monitors career-path program and conducts exit interviews
  • Participates in administrative staff meetings and attends other meetings, such as seminars
  • Maintains organizational charts and employee directory
  • Recommends new approaches, policies and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of department and services performed
  • Performs other task as assigned by the Director of HR

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in HR preferred and/or 2 years’ related experiences
  • Ability to understand business goals and recommend new approaches to reach those goals
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel
  • Highly organized with ability to meet deadlines and detail oriented
  • Experience with working in a collaborative team environment
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Comfortable with working in a virtual environment
  • Some experience in providing customer service
