The NAAHP to host its 6th Annual Conference from Thursday, November 2 through Saturday November 4, 2017 at New York University line-up to include NY members of congress, Haiti elected officials and entrepreneurs

New York, October 17, 2017 – This year’s NAAHP conference, with a focus on the impact of Haiti Diaspora Economics and Innovation will be taking place at New York University Law School campus. The yearly anticipated conference gathers members and friends of the Haitian Diaspora from congress, government, industry, technology, higher education, media, Silicon Valley and more to share thought leadership and transfer information to help in the growth of the Diaspora both in the U.S. and abroad.
This year’s conference themed “Diaspora Economics: Identifying Economic Opportunities for Haitians in the Diaspora and at Home in Education, Business, Entrepreneurship, and Workforce Development,” will focus on engaging attendees to augment the Diaspora’s growth of economic power at the local, national, and international level.
The NAAHP anticipates more than 500 attendee’s to attend this year’s conference. The conference agenda highlights the innovation of millennials of Haitian descent, diaspora expertise in technology innovation, diaspora investment in Haiti, wealth management, entrepreneurship & small business advisory, advances in workforce and private sector development, and inroads toward empowering women and will include a panel with Haitian elected officials.
Serge Renaud, President of NAAHP shared, “This year’s conference is focused on providing training in critical areas, such as workforce development, needed to thrive in the professional environments in the Diaspora and in Haiti.” Renaud continued, “We are happy to be back in New York and too partner with government officials and various organizations to bring the NAAHP Conference back to the tri-state area.”
The line-up includes nine members of Congress as part of the honorary congressional host and host Committees, two ambassadors, a number of senior-level government officials from both the U.S. and Haiti, entrepreneurs, senior-level industry professionals, higher education administrators and millennial change-makers which include: Christine Souffrant Ntim, Co-Founder of Global Startup Ecosystem and Host of the Haiti & Ghana Tech Summits, David Toussaint, Founder & CEO, Haiti Tourism Inc., and Shaina Silva, Director, Industry Accelerators at RocketSpace. As with past conferences, the conference will include a kickoff reception on Thursday night, and a closing dinner on Saturday.
