Christina Pardo Maxis, MD MPH

Dr. Christina Pardo Maxis is an Assistant Professor in Obstetrics & Gynecology at SUNY Stony Brook University Hospital.  She graduated from Howard University in 2004 with a B.S. in Biology. She attended Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, in New Jersey as well as completed a Master’s in Public Health at Boston University with a concentration on International Health. Because of her desire to work with underserved and immigrant communities she went on to complete residency in Obstetrics & Gynecology at SUNY Downstate medical center in Brooklyn NY.

Throughout her education and training she traveled abroad and worked with several global health organizations including the Fogarty International Minority International research training program in Ethiopia, GHESKIO, Project Medishare, and Partners in Health.  Her interest in medical education and global health brought her to Stony Brook University to pursue her academic & clinical interests upon completion of her residency in 2013.  While at Stony Brook she has partnered with Equal health in capacity building efforts at the Partners in Health University Hospital at Mirebalais initiating and leading a Laparoscopy training program.  In 2016, along with her colleague she started a Global Women’s Health track for OBGYN residents at Stony Brook University Hospital.
