Régine Rene-Labrousse

President of the American Chamber of Commerce in Haiti (AmCham)

Régine Rene-Labrousse is a leading professional in working in cross-cultural environments to promote fair trade.  Like a true New Orleanian, Regine brings a “joie-de-vivre” element while taking care of business.  Former U.S. Diplomat and lifelong promoter of transparent and modern business practices, she is working with the private sector leaders and institutions to nurture economic development in Haiti.  For years she’s worked on Haitian Diaspora issues, aiming to facilitate a more unified approach to strengthening Haiti’s economy.

Since January 2014, Régine René-Labrousse joined the Brasserie Nationale d’Haiti S.A. (BRANA), part of the Heineken Company. As the Public Affairs Manager, Régine maintains relations with government officials and key stakeholders while representing BRANA at various commercial chambers to promote a more favorable business environment.

Régine represents BRANA-Heineken as the current President of the American Chamber of Commerce in Haiti (AmCham), and secretary of Forum Economique du Secteur Privé. In the past, Regine also represented Brana in the board of the Haitian Manufacturers’ Association (ADIH), and AGERCA (risk prevention and business continuity).  She plays a key role in promoting the company’s local sourcing initiatives and drives responsible consumption activities in Haiti.

Prior to joining BRANA, Régine was a Foreign Service Officer, working for the U.S. Department of State from 2006 to 2013.  She served in Washington, DC and at the U.S. Embassies in Morocco, Jamaica, the Dominican Republic, and lastly in Haiti.  From 2010 to 2013, Régine was the Cultural Attaché at U.S. Embassy Port au Prince and played a key role in advancing educational, cultural, and professional exchange programs between the U.S. and Haiti.

Régine earned a Master’s degree in International Communications from American University in D.C. in 2008.  Her Master’s research project analyzed factors influencing the Haitian Diaspora’s direct involvement in Haiti’s economic advancement.  She also earned a Bachelor’s degree in International Business and Latin American Studies from Loyola University New Orleans in 2005.  Her degree programs included study abroad components in Brazil, Mexico, and Haiti.

Régine is from New Orleans, Louisiana of Haitian parents.  She is fluent in English, French, and Creole and conversant in Spanish.  She is married with two young children.
