Tessa Jacques is a seasoned professional with over 12 years of experience working in the private sector. Her strong work ethic, dynamism, and conviviality made Tessa an exceptional and highly regarded professional.
After her studies in International Business at Palm beach Atlantic University, she joined Air Canada as a Sales and Customer Service Agent for nearly 4 years. Continuing her career in the airline industry, she then joined the Canadian company, Sunwing Airlines and later Emirates Airlines in Dubai, where her heightened sense of customer service, leadership and professionalism were rewarded and she was promoted to Senior Flight Attendant. While in Dubai, Tessa witnessed the impact of investments on the development of a country.
After the devastating earthquake in Haiti, and as a Haitian living in the Diaspora, she held the hope of returning to her native country to contribute to its progress and prosperity. Tessa returned to her native home and joined the newly constructed Marriott Hotel as Sales Manager. Her transition to the American Chamber of Commerce (AmCham) in Haiti as Public Affairs Coordinator gave her an in-depth lens to the challenges of the business climate in Haiti and the immense investment opportunities.
Her demonstrated professionalism and performance allowed for the natural transition as the head of the Republic of Haiti’s investment promotion agency. As Director General of the Center for the Facilitation of Investments (CFI), Tessa’s mission is to promote and facilitate investment in Haiti to create employment and the production of wealth. Working with public and private sector actors, enabling a favorable business climate and the promoting the dynamism of Haitian entrepreneurship constitute her core duties. Under her new leadership, she intends to infuse the institution with a new vision, fostering an environment of proactivity and efficiency – a true investment promotion agency contending with others in the region. With her committed team, CFI will be more prominent and dynamic in attracting foreign investment and encouraging re-investment.
