Anabelle Pierre

Event Organizer

Miss Anabelle Pierre is a young Haitian professional who left her home country when she was 8 years old. She then had the opportunity to live in different countries throughout Africa and Asia as her parents worked in international development. Anabelle had the privilege to have a truly global upbringing, having lived in Haiti, Burkina Faso, India, Cameroon and Zimbabwe, all before graduating from high school.

Anabelle attended Old Dominion University where she obtained a Bachelors degree in International Relations. She has a Masters degree in Sustainable Development and International Policy with a focus on Social Innovation and Monitoring and Evaluation, from the School for International Training.

Anabelle started her professional career as a consultant for the Clinton Bush Haiti Fund and the Inter-American Development Bank in DC where she got the opportunity to work on Haiti-related initiatives. Her experiences reinforced her desire to participate in Haiti’s economic development and convinced her to reach out to other like-minded young Haitian professionals in the DC area. To that end, her recent activities have focused on bringing together the Haitian Diaspora by organizing events in the Washington DC area.

Anabelle was part of the ELAN Haiti team, which brought the 1st international youth forum to Haiti in November 2014. Although Anabelle left Haiti as a child, she has remained connected to her country and is committed to be part of a new generation collaborating to bring innovative solutions to Haiti’s progress.
