Dean Wilson T. Bland

Co-Chair Haitians at HU Committee

Mr. Wilson T. Bland serves as the Dean of Residence Life. Prior to coming to this role, Mr. Bland served as the Associate Director of Student Activities and the Assistant Property Manager of the Howard Plaza Towers with the Office of Residence Life.

He is from Detroit Michigan and came to Washington, DC to attend Howard University majoring in Music and minoring in Business Administration. He later earned a MBA degree double majoring in Management and Computer Information Systems from Southeastern University in Washington, DC. He is currently pursuing a Doctoral degree in Educational Administration and Policy in the School of Education at Howard University.

While working with the office of Residence life, Mr. Bland chaired or co-chaired several committees, which allowed students to give back to the Howard University community as well as the DC community by their involvement with volunteer opportunities. Project Giveback was one of the main volunteer organizations that he was involved with as well as participating in the University’s Commencement ceremony. Students’ involvement with the guidance of Mr. Bland was an essential part of the community service volunteer opportunities and ceremonies for many years.
