Yvesner Zamar

Legislative Counsel

Yvesner Zamar received his undergraduate education from The Florida State University. He conducted his legal studies at the David A. Clarke School of Law-University of the District of Columbia. During law school, he worked with the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) of the Nation’s Capital Area, the Federal Health and Families Team at AARP, and for Congressman Alcee L. Hastings. He also served two years on NBLSA’s National Board as National Historian and National Attorney General. He was a part NBLSA’s international efforts as a part of delegations to Haiti and Canada. Currently, he serves as a Legislative Counsel to Congressman John Conyers, Jr., the Ranking Member of the House Judiciary Committee and the first Black Dean of Congress.
