Adriyanna Andreus

Special Assistant

An avid girl- consumed by politics, music, and taking on the troubles of someone else; dying to forever change the world; a young Haitian women, sitting on a stoop cutting plantain in the ghettos of Leogane, Haiti; a Jersey girl, doo whooping and scatting to the neo-soul and jazz that align the streets of East Orange; and a small town girl from Dover seeking to be the Cornell West of her generation. These characters describe Adriyanna’s diversity. She’s an activist, intoxicated by the fresh smell of Caribbean food while humming and patting the rhythm to old school records.

She has had a great deal of experience in politics, social justice and civic engagement both locally and internationally. At Howard University Adriyanna served as the Sergeant- at- arms for the Howard University Chapel Assistants, the Corresponding Secretary for the Howard University College democrats for 2014-2015 school year and is serving as President for the 2015-2016 school year. She is also serving as Political director of the DC Federation for College Democrats the official DC branch for College Democrats of America. Additionally she is the founder and Chair of the DMV Haitian Student Association. Recently she attended the first International Summit in Cap-Haitian, Haiti entitled Elan Haiti. Where she was one of the only 7 students to represent the United States out of the 100 students chosen. And was given the opportunity to return back to Haiti with the Office of the Dean of the Chapel participating in their Alternative Spring Break Program.

After graduating from Howard University, my ultimate career goal is to service and progress Haiti’s legal and educational system.
