HOW SPEAKERS ARE CHOSEN

The Committee evaluates the proposals based on the following criteria:

  • Clearly stated learning objectives and purpose
  • Whether your workshops/panels are related to the theme of the conference
  • Potential for audience interactive participation
  • Speaker presentation skills and experience
  • Speaker subject matter knowledge and expertise
  • Overall quality of the written proposal
  • Practical application of material
  • Technical accuracy
  • Context of the issues including real-world case studies, examples, and stories
  • Time slots available in the program
  • Preference is given to sponsors

Sponsors and Speaking Proposals

The NAAHP does not offer speaking opportunities in exchange for sponsoring at the Conference.  To maintain the integrity of the Conference, our number one consideration when evaluating speaking proposals has to be the content of the proposal and qualifications of the speakers.

We do, however, look at past and current sponsorship commitments, and other past contributions to the NAAHP (both financial and in-kind), when we evaluate speaking proposals. For example, if we have two equally compelling proposals in terms of content and speaker qualifications, we would give preference to the proposal submitted by firm or stakeholder that is a consistently strong supporter of the NAAHP. Here are some factors to be aware of in terms of how we evaluate the level of support provided by firms/stakeholders that have submitted speaking proposals:

  • We do not consider promises of support; we give preference only where we have received payment or a firm commitment of support.
  • Preference is given in correlation to the level of commitment.  For example, a firm that purchases only one exhibit booth will receive less preference than a firm that purchase multiple booths and also agrees to a sponsorship.
  • Examples of support that we consider include, but are not limited to, exhibiting at the Conference, sponsoring the Conference (in addition to exhibiting), contributing content to the NAAHP website, and the number of NAAHP memberships the firm maintains.
  • Firms that have a long (multi-year) history of supporting the NAAHP and our Conference will receive preference over first-time sponsors or those that make only minimal or limited contributions.

If you are interested in presenting at the NAAHP’s 2015 Annual Conference, please follow the instructions provided and submit a response via email with the subject line “NAAHP 2015 Annual Conference – Call for Speakers Response” by July 31, 2015.

Due to the large volume of proposals we receive, we will only reply to those being selected.
