Consul Guy François Jr

Consul at the Consulate General of the Republic of Haiti in Miami

Guy François Jr was born on November 10th, 1981, and raised in Port-au-Prince, Haiti. In 2001, he graduated from well known Catholic High School St Louis de Gonzague. In 2005, he graduated in Finance at Miami Dade College and obtained certification as Licensed Banker in 2008.

In 2004, he put together his own entertainment company “Kamikaz Group” where he organized several cultural activities in Haiti, Miami, Santiago DR, and New York. Known as the youngest Haitian Entertainment companies. He worked with all the Haitian Popular Bands such as Sweet Micky, T-Vice, Carimi, Djakout and more. He also brought world known international artists to Haiti such as Neyo, Edward Maya with his megahit “Stereo Love”.

He has served and worked with non-profit organizations particularly Project Medishare and Haven Foundation. He also volunteered with his staff at the Miami Mardi Gras in Downtown Miami in 2003 and H2O concert in South Florida after the earthquake in January 2012.

He worked three years (2008-2011) at Wells Fargo as Personal Banker in Alton Road then in Miami Shores where he served the Haitian Community. He was recognized by the Financial institution as Top Performer Banker in the District and good customer service.

In January 2012, he was nominated Vice Consul and responsible of Culture at the Consulate General of Haiti in Miami. In May 2014, he got promoted Consul for his performance.

For his three years at the Consulate General of Haiti in Miami, Consul Francois put together an annual calendar for his jurisdiction. Within this calendar, the Consulate General of Haiti in Miami now hosts International Women’s Month Ceremony in March to honor Haitian Women; new partnership with the Haitian American Elected officials and cultural partners in May for Haitian Heritage Month. In 2013, he put together Creole Month during the month of October to bring awareness to the Creole Language and Culture.

He is also responsible of Tourism where he serves as the liaison for the Ministry of the Tourism within his jurisdiction. In June 2013, Through the partnership between the Consulate General of Haiti in Miami and the Ministry of Tourism, he participated in the launching of packages (hotel + transportation) with Transat USA , then soccer game Haiti vs World Champions Spain at Sun life Stadium which President Martelly attended with an attendance of 36,000 people with the promotion of Ministry of Tourism on the field. On October 2nd, 2013 he worked for the launching of the first commercial flight ever in Cap Haitien with American Airlines with the presence of President Michel Martelly, Minister of Tourism, Vice President of American Airlines and several Haitian and American officials attended this historical moment where Cap Haitien airport started building in 1955 and finally inaugurated in 2015.

In May 2013, he brought Haitian Music Legend Rodrigue Millien, where he was honored by President Martelly at the National Palace and visited his own tv room at Haitian National TV (TNH) called “Rodrigue Millien Room.

With his position, He works and partners with the Haitian Cultural partners, Association of Professionals, Haitian student organizations, tourism partners, medias, elected officials, Haitian government officials and always ready to serve his country.
