Nahomie Mirville, a professional nurse for the past 12 years, a faithful servant of the community, a leader, and an educator was born and raised in Port-au-Prince, Haiti. She migrated to the US in 1993. Her nursing career began in 2000 from McFatter technical center as a practical nurse. She graduated from Broward College with an associate degree in nursing in 2004. She went to Florida Atlantic University where she received a Bachelor in Nursing in 2006 and later on obtained her Master of Science in Nursing at South University in 2010. Her nursing experiences include community health, pediatric, medical surgical, intensive care, emergency and an educator whom makes a difference with everyone she comes in contact with. As a current Assistant professor at Chamberlain School of Nursing, she wants to continue to empower her students to serve the community while providing safe and efficient nursing care for the betterment of the nursing profession. She is very passionate about patient’s education as well as community service. Her love for the community has brought her to one of the prestigious association, the Haitian American Nurses Association of Florida Inc. and served as a president (fearless leader) for 2011-2013. During her leadership, she has empowered members, formed new partnership and amongst all the improvement with member’s involvement within the association. She is the current Chair of Education Committee of HANA.

She is an active member in different prestigious organizations and has collaborated with several non-profit organizations. Ms. Mirville is the recipient of the “Nightingale Leadership” award for 2011 and 2012 from the International Nursing Association of America; “Community Leader” from the Association of Exchange and Development of Activities and Partnerships, Inc. (AEDAP) in 2012; March of Dimes Nurse finalist for Community leadership in 2012. Ms. Mirville’s activities include, mentoring students and novice nurses, participate in multiple medical missions, health fairs, presenter on different topics relating to leadership, Co-Host on radio station on breast cancer awareness and the host of Koze Santé in which education is provided to the community on chronic diseases and hope to empower the community in self-care involvement and health compliance. She is a very remarkable young woman, her caring charisma; energy and love for others are contagious. Her favorite sentence is” serving is a natural thing to do”.
