Cherline Chery

Cherline Chery is currently holding a graduate teaching assistantship at Florida International University where she is pursuing a masters degree in African & African Diaspora studies with a focus in Afrocentric education. Prior to her move to the beautiful Miami, she received her B.A. from the University of South Florida where she studied Communications with a special focus on culture and media.

In 2018, Cherline directed and produced her first independent project Melaninals Uncut – a short docuseries that captures and explores the diverse variations and complexities of the black experience through the perspective of black millennials. She is also currently serving as the CSO representative for the FIU African & African Diaspora Studies Graduate Student Association.
