Dominique F. Carvonis is a multilingual (speaks 5 languages) hotelier and business consultant with over 35 years of hospitality experience in multicultural environments particularly in the Caribbean and Latin America.
She is the founder and President of DFC Consults (USA/Haiti), an international consulting firm committed to the improvement of the quality of life through the development of companies in emerging markets through a holistic approach, a “triple bottom line” philosophy which encompass economic prosperity, respect for the environment and social equity with an emphasis on sustainable development of best practices in the Tourism Industry.
She sits on the Board of Moulin Sur Mer Hotel, a 70 rooms beach resort and actively participated in the project for the construction of a $ 30 M Hilton hotel adjacent to Visa Lodge hotel, a 43 rooms’ business hotel near Port – au-Prince’s international airport which she presides. She was the president the Haiti Tourism Association (ATH) for two consecutive terms during which she participated in the creation of the Haiti Tourism Master Plan. She is a Certified Hospitality Trainer (CHT), officially recognized by the Educational Institute of the American Hotel & Lodging Association.
She partnered with the Group MENFENIL of Martinique to create and develop a plant in Haiti called AYITI LINGE SERVICES (ALS) for the industrial treatment of linen for the Hotel, Health and Industry sectors.
Mrs. Carvonis is passionate about developing, implementing and promoting destination development programs in emerging markets. Some of her latest accomplishments include developing business and marketing strategies for the revitalization of the Tourism sector for the South of Haiti and branding Haiti. She is a long-distance swimmer and spearheads programs for the protection of the environment.
