Esther Dillard

Journalist, Educator, and Storyteller

Esther Dillard is a two-time Gracie Award-winning journalist, educator, and storyteller whose career spans some of the most respected media markets in the country. Hailing from Buffalo, New York, she has been a trusted voice and face in newsrooms including WBGO-FM, KTVU-Ch2 in San Francisco, CBS-3 in Philadelphia, WGRZ-TV2 in Buffalo, and WEYI-Ch 25 in Flint, Michigan. Her extensive experience has sharpened her journalistic lens and deepened her mission to tell powerful, community-centered stories.

Currently, Esther serves as a reporter and anchor for The Black Information Network (BIN), a 24/7 national audio news service owned by iHeartMedia. BIN is broadcast on 38 stations across 34 markets, serving over 100 gospel, urban, and hip-hop stations with hourly national news updates. With a cumulative monthly audience of 19 million listeners, the network is the first-of-its-kind platform dedicated to providing trusted news coverage by and for the Black community—an effort Esther is proud to help lead.

Her exceptional storytelling has earned her two Gracie Awards for excellence in audio journalism, recognizing her unique ability to spotlight underrepresented voices and elevate stories that matter.

In addition to her media work, Esther is a former communications professor at Bloomfield College in New Jersey, where she taught courses such as Writing for Radio and Television, Broadcast Journalism, News Gathering, Intro to Mass Communications, and Public Speaking. Her commitment to education remains a vital part of her journey.
