Franck David Nelson, MSN, RN

Assistant-Vice President, Health Equity, Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital

Franck David Nelson is the Assistant-Vice President, Health Equity. In his role, Nelson has oversight of Health Equity initiatives, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, community partnerships, in addition to some operational functions within the organization. Nelson will continue to engage in an interdisciplinary team approach to deliver equitable and culturally sensitive care to the diverse patients, communities, workforce, and providers we serve.

In his previous role, Nelson served as the Corporate Health Equity Manager at RWJBarnabas Health, the most comprehensive healthcare system in the state of New Jersey where he oversaw the design of clinically driven evidence-based practice and training methodologies by means of overall system-wide assessments and integration across the RWJBarnabas Health System. Further, Nelson led the efforts in reducing health disparities among New Jersey’s diverse populations while ensuring the operational alignment of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion initiatives that are seamless, consistent, and efficient throughout the system.

Nelson earned a Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences and a Master of Science in Nursing both from Seton Hall University. In his spare time, Franck enjoys writing, exercising, and loves the New York Giants.
