Gilbert Gonzales

CEO, PISA

Gilbert Gonzales is a seasoned business executive, investor, and entrepreneur with a deep commitment to responsible business practices, particularly within the agro-industrial sector. Since returning to Haiti in 1996 after earning his Business Management degree from Walsh University in Ohio, Gilbert has played a pivotal role in contributing to the country’s economic landscape.

As a founding member of the REBO Group, he has helped lead the organization’s diverse ventures, which span agriculture (PISA), food and beverages (REBO S.A. and Culligan), insurance (AIC) and energy (InterNegoce S.A.). Currently, he serves as Vice President of Strategic Development for the Group and is the CEO of PISA, the Group’s agricultural division.

Gilbert’s innovative leadership has driven notable accomplishments. In 2010, he launched Haiti’s first coffee shop chain, “REBO Expresso Shops,” followed by a pioneering micro-franchise model for street coffee vendors, empowering over 100 micro-entrepreneurs from disadvantaged communities. His passion for sustainable agriculture also led to PISA’s work with 2,000 cacao growers in northern Haiti, helping them form a cooperative and obtain organic certification. More recently, he has helped the development of the vanilla value chain in the North of Haiti, a promising new crop for the country.  Today, PISA exports premium organic cacao and vanilla to international markets through direct trade relationships.

In addition to his business roles, Gilbert has been actively involved in various private sector associations and think tanks. He served on the Board of CLED (Centre pour la Libre Entreprise et la Démocratie) from 2004 to 2014 and was a Board member of AMCHAM (American Chamber of Commerce) from 2014 to 2019.

Driven by a combination of passion and sharp intuition, Gilbert continues to lead strategic development across his businesses, fostering growth and social impact in Haiti and beyond.
