James Pierre

Radio and TV Personality

James Pierre is an award winning journalist with almost 20 years’ experience in Radio and Television.

Originally from Haiti, James has called South Florida his second home since 2008. He graduated with honors from The Miami Dade College School of Entertainment & Design Technology (S.E.D.T.) with a bachelor’s Degree in Television, Film and Digital production and a Master’s Degree from St Thomas University in Communication Arts (Specialization Electronic Media arts). He currently serves as producer and anchor at MDC-TV.

James has covered some of the biggest stories in Haiti and South Florida. He guided viewers through the intense protests in Haiti in 2004 that forced President Aristide to exile, the coverage of the earthquake that stroke Haiti in 2010 and the cholera outbreak, TPS for Haitians in 2017 and the arrest of former president of Panama Ricardo Martenelli.

James is fluent in Spanish, which helps him stay connected with the South Florida’s Cuban American and Dominican American communities. He is a contributor to Rick Sanchez and Prohibido Callarse shows on Mira TV.

James also edits and does Director of Photography work in his field. Most notably his found had been Director of Photography in television shows like Food wars (Travel Channel), Lost’s finale promo (ABC). He produces more than a thousand ads for corporate companies and government institutions. Among them are : FCC, Make U.S.A Beautiful, Simple Mobile, Humana, Naca, South Florida Workforce,CAC Care, Care Plus, WSRF 15 AM, Radio Vision 2000, and Tele Pluriel.

Aside from his journalism skills, James is known for the hard work he does in the community like hosting events for nonprofit organizations or educational institutions. James is also a Motivational Speaker who has inspired students in South Florida and the Caribbean to believe in themselves and overcome obstacles.
