Joanne is a Computer Engineer with 25+ years of experience in compliance, security, auditing, and Financial advisory. Aside from her business activity, she devotes her time as the Co-Founder of Bracing Neighbors a non-profit foundation established in Haiti and in Lincoln Nebraska (USA) whose mission is to promote and support social entrepreneurship for underserved women entrepreneurs in southern region of Haiti.
Her first experience in the field of engineering was as a Security Officer, Technological Auditor, and Director of Operational and Technological Risk Control for the SOGEBANK Group Haiti (1997-2014), roles she kept for 17 years until branching out on her own.
Founder and CEO of GECA (2012) and FIDUTEK (2016) Joanne has managed many successful projects, among which can be cited : the creation and implementation of a banking platform for 55 Credit Unions (Haiti); Interconnection of Credit Union platform with the MasterCard international switch; the establishment of a mobile payment platform for farmers “Block Chain” ready with Agriledger (UK); in partnership with YoTi (UK) worked on the a platform to provide a Digital Identity to the teachers hired by the government of Republic of Congo (DRC) and others applications projects related to money laundering prevention and fraud; she was also a guest speaker in forums promoting social and financial inclusion. As part of her role in GECA, she co-led her team under USAID INVEST (USA) project to facilitate private investment into Haitian SMEs, raising over $18 million USD.
Specialist in the field of operational risk management and a member of the International Compliance Association, she maintains a specialization in the prevention of Financial Crimes on Mobile Platform. Joanne has also collaborated on seminars and conferences on Technological Innovations, Financial Investigations and Internal Control Mechanisms, Operational Risk Management and Mitigation, IT Security and Communication in Haiti, USA, Panama, and the Dominican Republic.
Married and a mother of 3, Joanne is native of and raised in Haiti, she is also a resolved believer of change, her challenge is to evolve, innovate, advocate, mentor and spread the practice and use of modern tools to enrich and improve quality of life, while increasing performance and return.
