Joshua Paul, M.D.
Founder, Build and Bridge
Dr. Paul was born in 1961 in Port Au Prince.
His father was a minister and his mom a homemaker and sometime elementary school teacher.
He did his primary studies at College Bird before moving to South Carolina as a teenager.
Dr. Paul earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry and Psychology at Southern Wesleyan University on a soccer and academic scholarship. He then went on to obtain a Medical Doctor degree from the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, SC. He currently
Throughout his career, Dr Paul remained active in volunteering in his local community and in Haiti. His endeavors include managing the Paul’s family estate and pursuing various business ventures in Haiti.
In 2012, following his desire to give back, he founded Build and Bridge, 501c3 registered in the state of South Carolina to promote sustainable development in Haiti. This organization works with development of urban green spaces, job creation for young people in challenged neighborhoods and the mentoring of young Haitian entrepreneurs.
Dr. Paul is the proud recipient of the Bridge Award presented by the Georgia Haitian American Chamber of Commerce.
He has traveled extensively throughout Haiti, South America and the Caribbean. He is fluent in French, Spanish, and English.
Dr Paul has a passion for human development, history, and sociology. In his spare time, Dr Paul enjoys time with family, Kompa, jazz, reggae, and Haitian coffee.
