Representative in Haiti, Inter-American Development Bank (IDB)
Doctor in Law and Lawyer-Economist (University of Deusto), Mr. Echebarria Ariznabarreta is currently the Representative of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) in Haiti.
Formerly, he was Manager of a multi-national consulting company; Director of the Institute of Public Management and Professor of Business Policy at ESADE (Barcelona); Partner and Director of a consulting firm; Professor of the College of Europe in Bruges; as well as a consultant to the European Commission, OECD and other international organizations.
In 2000, he joined the IDB, where he has served as Principal in Modernization of the State (2000-2007); IDB Representative in Chile (2005-2007); and General Manager of the Office of Strategic Planning and Development Effectiveness (2007- 2013), where he oversaw the IDB’s Ninth Capital Increase, among other responsibilities. He was one more time (2013-2016) the IDB Representative in Chile, and IDB Representative in Haiti (12/2016- present).
