Marcel Fontin

Marcel Fontin is currently Chief Operating Officer of Simact, Inc., a socially-conscious company, based in the Haitian-American Community of New York, with investments in Haiti in excess of USD 10MM. Mr. Fontin is also a Practicing Commercial Real Estate Consultant with Commercial Real Estate Services of Florida, Inc. From 2014-2016, he founded and managed MF Financial Advisors, Inc., a Consulting Firm, advising small business clients relative to financial management, planning, restructuring and profit generation strategies. Prior to that period, Mr. Fontin served as a Member of the Board of Directors and Senior Consultant to Executive Management of Banque de l’Union Haitienne (BUH), facilitating its transition between 2013-14. Marcel Fontin also served as Chairman and CEO of BUH, presided over its strategic restructuring and recapitalization from 2008 to 2013, turning around its operation, raised its financial standing and USD 10 Million  to strengthen its capital base in 2013. He created in 2005, MF Financial Consultants, Inc., a small financial consulting firm offering financial advisory services to small to medium-size companies and became the first Haitian-American Company, to serve as an International Development Loan Consultant with the Overseas Private Investment Corporation (OPIC). In 1994, Mr. Fontin was hired as part of a team to create and manage a startup Federally-chartered bank in Florida and, served as Vice President Business Development & Community Reinvestment Act Officer until 2005. While serving as CRA Officer, the bank received in 2004, Outstanding Rating on its CRA Performance Evaluation, a distinctive recognition awarded to only 5% of area banks in the State. As Assistant Treasurer, he managed the corporate loan operation division of the Republic National Bank of New York from 1984 to 1993. * Mr. Fontin served on various community-based organization boards, in the State of Florida from 1991 to 2008, authored and conducted many small business information and financial education seminars in the Haitian-American  Communities of South Florida.
