Marie Evangéline Roussel-Lucien

Marie Evangéline Roussel-Lucien is a native of Haiti, with a long career first in the banking industry in her native country, then in the non-profit sector in the US, where she has worked in the health care sector industry, at the Rhode Island-based Thundermist Health Center in the Administration and Finance Department.

Marie Evangéline Roussel-Lucien has an extensive record of community engagement having coordinated or implemented marketing, and public relations strategies or fundraising activities for various non-profit organizations in Rhode Island and in Massachusetts to benefits her compatriots living in Haiti or in the Diaspora. Her community engagement encompasses a range of causes that address the needs and priorities of disfranchised and immigrant communities, such as immigration, education, disaster relief, cultural advocacy, voting rights and public health. She also well-known for her mentoring of youth and her activism in the Catholic Faith.

She has been on the board or has volunteered for numerous organizations such the Groupe de Réflexion et d’Action pour une Haiti Nouvelle (GRAHN), La Providence #9 (Rhode Island), the National Alliance for the Advancement of Haitian Professionals (NAAHP), the Haitian-Americans United Inc. (HAU), The Haitian Artists Assembly of Massachusetts (HAAM), the French Alliance of Providence RI, Education Française Greater Boston, the Alumni Association of the Sacred Heart Brothers, etc.

Marie Evangéline Roussel-Lucien is the recipient of various awards and citations for her community and humanitarian work. She is the mother of Jean-Daniel Roussel and lives in Foxborough, Massachusetts, with her husband Charlot Lucien.
