Marlyne Silver

Marlyne Silver is a dynamic community leader, entrepreneur, and clinical research professional dedicated to empowering the Haitian diaspora and building sustainable cultural spaces outside traditional metropolitan hubs. Based in the rapidly growing Raleigh-Durham area of North Carolina, Marlyne has spent nearly a decade fostering deep community connections, recruiting passionate volunteers, and elevating Haitian culture in the Carolinas.

As the newly budding founder and operator of Lakou Entertainment (collaborative partner to Haitians of The Triangle), Marlyne leads a cultural media and event planning business designed to celebrate, promote, and connect the Haitian community through NAAHP | The Founder’s Journey: Building Haitian Organizations Beyond Traditional Hubs – A Virtual Symposium high-impact social and cultural gatherings. Her grassroots expertise is further highlighted by her tenure prior as the former Membership and Outreach Chair for the Carolina Haitian Women’s Society (CHWS), where she championed member recruitment, established key local partnerships, and managed external communications to support Haitian women and families across the region. Additionally, she has spent six years coordinating volunteers and supporting community engagement for the annual Haitian Flag Day festival in partnership with Haitians of the Triangle.

In addition to her community organizing endeavors, Marlyne brings a rigorous, structured approach to her advocacy, drawing from a successful 14-year career in clinical trial operations and data management for leading clinical research organizations. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Health and Nutrition Science from Brooklyn College.

Marlyne is incredibly passionate about the realities of building grassroots movements with limited resources, maintaining founder wellness, and creating strong, collaborative networks that prove Haitian culture can thrive beautifully, no matter the zip code.
