Nicka Dashley Althenor

Conference Registration Specialist, NAAHP Conference (2024)

Co-Founder, CRICO

Nicka Dashley Althenor is a dedicated and resilient professional from Haiti, known for her commitment to education, community development, and women’s rights. Growing up as the eldest in her family, she faced significant challenges from a young age, which instilled in her a strong sense of responsibility and leadership.

Nicka’s professional journey began early when, at just 15, she took the initiative to educate young girls in her community about the importance of education and social issues. This was made possible through her collaboration with missionaries, leading to her first successful outreach event at 16. Motivated by positive feedback, she continued these initiatives annually, demonstrating her passion for empowering young women.

In high school, Nicka co-founded the Cercle de réflexion intégrée et communautaire (CRICO), which promotes intellectual and sociocultural activities, particularly for girls. Her dedication to education and community leadership earned her sponsorship from Compassion International, allowing her to attend seminars and training that enhanced her skills.

After transitioning to the University of Port-au-Prince, Nicka further honed her leadership abilities by becoming the campus director for the Hult Prize competition during the 2019-2020 academic year.

Nicka has also volunteered with several organizations, including Negès Mawon, ISOC Haiti, and Impact Hub Port-au-Prince. Her work with these organizations reflects her commitment to positive change and her desire to uplift her community. She is also a proud Global Ugrad and Compassion International Alumni.
