Soferri’s most significant accolades and awards include induction into the Cum Laude Society (meaning she is in the top 10% of her class), induction into the National Society of High School Scholars (NSHSS), the Excellence in World Language Award, the Excellence in History Award, the AP Scholar with Distinction award, the School Recognition Award, and the Hugh O’Brian Youth (HOBY) Award for Outstanding Leadership Potential.
Soferri founded the High-Achievers Club in her 11th grade year. The High-Achievers Club aims to provide all types of high-achieving students—in sports, academics, extracurriculars, etc.—with various resources and opportunities in order to help these students serve their community and prepare them for college and beyond. Inspired by her club’s mission in her 11th grade summer, Soferri researched the “overachiever syndrome”—a term encompassing the common mental blocks overachievers face, including perfectionism, imposter syndrome, fear of failure, and burnout—and realized the negative effect it had on overachievers’ success and well-being. Recognizing high-achieving students as an underserved group and combining her passion for science and creative writing, Soferri founded Dear Overachievers—a newsletter that helps high-achieving students overcome hidden mental blocks by using medical analogies to break down psychological traps into actionable habits.
