Taking Back the Narrative About Haiti: A Tale of the Haitian Music and Film Industries
Location: Room 3545
This session will touch on how Haitians are re-creating the narrative about Haiti. Though the negatives also need to be confronted, there has to be a balance and resistance to the single story that has been placed on Haiti and the limitations it creates for our progress. This panel will explore how we can take ownership of our narrative by showcasing Haiti’s rich history, deep ancestral heritage, beautiful people, sublime land, and powerful culture.
