On March 1st, NAAHP launched the 2016 round of the Haitian Leadership Award Scholarship Program, and we are currently reviewing the profiles of exceptional young women and men. We are enriched as we learn of our youth’s vision for a world (including Haiti) that respects and celebrates human dignity. They have innovative ideas and are intensely creative—in science, music, art, environmental stewardship and poverty alleviation. But they also recognize the timeless concepts of the importance of family, friendships, and their role in their community.

There is a growing recognition of the substantial benefits that Diaspora populations can bring to development efforts in Haiti. Yet we have often overlooked the role the Diaspora can play in growing and developing our young people. The NAAHP scholarship program offers Diaspora a perfect mechanism for investments of their time, talent and financial resources.

We have a remarkable generation of young people finding ways to transform their communities, and they are doing the work to make it happen. We are thrilled to be part of this exciting period of growth, and we invite your donations.
The education supported by a scholarship from NAAHP helps students develop talents and skills, and enhance their ability to be more effective catalysts for change.
